OVERVIEW

The EDI unit consists of dilute chamber (D chamber), concentrate chamber (C chamber) and electrode chamber (E chamber), in which the D chamber contains regular mixed ion exchange resin and removes ions in water; anion exchange or cation exchange membrane is filled between D chamber and C chamber; cation (anion) in the D chamber continuously enters into the C chamber via anion (cation) exchange membrane under the action of electrode at both ends; H2O may be decomposed into H+ and OH— under the action of DC energy so that mixed ion exchange resin in the D chamber is kept in a regenerative status. Therefore, the capacity is exchanged, and concentrated water in the Chamber C is continuously discharged. Therefore, when EDI is energized, pure water can be continuously generated, and it is unnecessary to use industrial acid and alkaline to regenerate filled resin. EDI’s water production unit consists of resin, ion exchange membrane and relevant filter. Each water production unit is connected in series, and forms an integral EDI equipment with electrodes at both ends.
